February 2nd was a first for the expanded Christian community comprising of the parishes of Carleton, Maria, the Kateri Tekakwitha Mission, New Richmond and St-Jules.
The people from these parishes gathered in St-Jules church to celebrate the Feast of Light. As it was also World Day of Consecrated Life, the Sisters of St-Paul of Chartres (in Maria) and Mgr Gaétan Proulx, Bishop of Gaspé, renewed their vows. The celebration was followed by a cold buffet at the Community Center of St-Jules where we were able to savor the artistic talents of Régis Audet, Nathalie Morin and Claire Bourbeau, the sisters of St-Paul originally from Vietnam (who say they very much appreciate the Gaspésie ) and the Mayor of St-Jules, Gaétan Boudreau. We had the privilege of welcoming Rafael Figueroa St-Onge and Romain Trépannier, two young men from Carleton, who dazzled the audience with the content of their performance on stage. What beautiful, bright lights these young men are! This activity was prepared with representatives from each of the parishes, all coordinated by Mrs. Thérèse Gallant of St-Jules. What beautiful and good things we experience together when the work is shared and fraternity and collaboration are the main ingredients! This activity will be repeated next year with the parish of New Richmond as the host. It's a date on February 2, 2020 in the church of New Richmond! We invite you to watch the videos posted below. |
Le 2 février dernier fût une première pour la communauté chrétienne élargie comprenant les paroisses de Carleton, Maria, la Mission Kateri Tekakwitha, New Richmond et St-Jules.
Les gens de ces paroisses se sont réunis en l'église de St-Jules pour célébrer la Fête de la Lumière. Étant aussi la Journée mondiale de la Vie consacrée, les Soeurs de St-Paul de Chartres (à Maria) et Mgr Gaétan Proulx, évêque de Gaspé, ont renouvelé leurs voeux d'engagement. La célébration fût suivie d'un buffet froid au Centre Communautaire de St-Jules et nous avons pu nous régaler des talents artistiques de Régis Audet, Nathalie Morin et Claire Bourbeau, les soeurs de St-Paul originaires du Vietnam (qui apprécient beaucoup la Gaspésie) et le maire de St-Jules Gaétan Boudreau. Nous avons eu le privilège d'accueillir Rafaël Figueroa St-Onge et Romain Trépannier, deux jeunes hommes de Carleton, qui ont ébloui l'assistance avec le contenu de leur performance sur scène. Quelles belles lumières ils sont! Cette activité a été préparée avec des représentants de chacune des paroisses, le tout coordonné par madame Thérèse Gallant de St-Jules. Que de belles et bonnes choses nous vivons quand le travail est partagé et la fraternité et la collaboration sont les principaux ingrédients! Cette activité se reproduira l'an prochain et c'est la paroisse de New Richmond qui nous accueillera. C'est donc un rendez-vous le 2 février 2020 en l'église de New Richmond!
